I'm trying to make "CF" stand for "Cure Found"...

Next Friday, Nov. 4, I will be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event, Standout Charlotte, recognizing outstanding professionals in my community. I have been selected as part of this group of 15 Standout men and women because of collective passion for community involvement. The group of Standout Charlotteans has been charged with raising $50,000 towards the fight against Cystic Fibrosis — a genetic disease that shortens the lives of those it affects to a median age of approximately 37 years.

Help me celebrate being honored as a 2011 Charlotte Standout (thank you Ted Boyd of Charlotte Center City Partners for the nomination!) by raising funds for the Charlotte chapter of the CF Foundation. My personal goal is to raise $3,500, contributing to the group’s effort.

Here’s the skinny: I have two ways to reach my fundraising goal — sell tickets to the event and solicit donations from my fantastic, giving friends.

Buy your ticket. Get dressed up. Show up to party.
The tickets are $125 (?!?!), yes. But, in return you’ll enjoy dinner from Basil Thai, an open bar and dancing (WHO doesn’t like all of these things??) and $80 of this ticket price is tax-deductable as it’s the amount being donated directly to CFF of Charlotte.  I would LOVE to see some familiar faces supporting me and have those same familiar faces (I’m looking at Y-O-U) donating to a worthy organization. (I’ve been challenged to sell at least 10 tickets to the event ... So... I think you know where I’m headed with this.) Go wild – buy an entire table. I need a cheering section!

Skip the ticket. Stay home in your PJ’s. Rent a movie. But, give me (well, CF) some of your money.
Donate $$ in my honor— I’ll take $5 or $5,000 (this beggar isn’t a chooser) just know I need to meet this minimum and I need your help to do it. (And know this money isn’t for ME, it’s for CF research and assistance!) 10 days left, help me get there! Yay!

Check my fundraising page via this link to do either of the above as well as learn more about CF.
You can also purchase or donate by phone by calling CFF Charlotte's office at 704-321-7852.
